here are my newest kits ~ Adoration & Adoration Mini kit. i don't usually limit myself to just a couple main colors like in this kit, but i wanted to try it & i love how it turned out! everything is quite shabby/grunged up and the papers have really amazing texture on them. and they're 25% off, of course, during their first 5 days :)

i got a couple scrapbook pages done with the new kit ~ i always have to play with them after i finish them! of course, my favorite subjects are our kids & these are very recent photos of them. i hope you enjoy peeking at our cuties!!

Cozy Christmas

well, i got a new Christmas kit all done up & i just adore how it turned out! i really played with painting on the papers & they ended up being really colorful & shabby. the other thing i wanted to play with in this kit was ribbons. my 9 year-old-son helped me with the ribbon tied star ~ he's such a crafty little man :) and be sure you check out the adorable coordinating felt alpha!

i plan to make lots of layouts with this kit, but for now i've got 2 to show you. hope you enjoy the kit AND it's 25% off right now!

can't believe it's been almost 2 months since i've blogged!! of course, it's all because we had our precious new baby ~ Carson Patrick. he's an absolute doll! he was a bit jaundiced & had to be re-admitted for several days, but he's perfect now. the kids just smother the poor boy in love & kisses, but he's enduring ;)

i had to have a couple surgeries the the weeks after i had Carson, but i'm mending well... just slowed me down a bit. i wouldn't recommend having a newborn, then having surgery twice LOL! school has also started for the other 2 kiddos & they're having a blast.

so that's what we've been up to, though i did get a mini kit done & in the $1 Market at Dusty Bear. it's this lovely Floral Heritage & i think you'll love it. and what a bargain for just ONE DOLLAR!!

Feeling sooooo much better!

i'm finally feeling like a human again after enduring morning sickness for several months. we're now 23 1/2 weeks along & we know we're having a little boy in July!! he's very active & healthy & we're all looking so forward to meeting our new family member :) i thank you all for the lovely comments & emails i've received wishing me well while i've been AWOL. it's so nice to know so many sweet, supportive people who enjoy digiscrapping like i do!

after getting my taxes done, i've now gotten back into Photoshop, so i wanted to show you what i've created. first is a LO of the first sonogram pics we got of our new bundle. it was sooo nice to get a LO done of these special images!

i'm PREGNANT! actually, it's because of the all-day morning sickness & hormone headaches i've been enduring :) i'm 14 1/2 weeks along not, so i'm hoping i'll start feeling better soon, but if now, i'll plod along ~ i'm just excited to be having another child!! we're due the end of July ~ it should be an exciting summer!

i thought i'd share with you what our family Christmas card looks like this year... i took some pics of the kiddos in their jammies one night & decided to use them for our card. then, i sat down to scrap them & thought, wow ~ how the heck am i going to match all these colors in their jammies with the card design?! lol! didn't even think about that when i took the photos! oh well ~ i liked how it turned out. i actually used mostly items from A Vintage Season & recolored them, but i did freehand the glitter tree. hope you like it!!

A Vintage Season

well, i've been toiling away in Photoshop working on my new "Christmas" kit. i decided to make it a little less like the traditional holiday kit & just use the traditional, vintage colors. that way, the kit could be used all year long, not just for Christmas! i loaded it up with tons of ribbons & bows ~ since they're my FAV element... i hope you like it!! and while working, i decided to play, too & got a layout done of our children decorating the tree last year. i wanted the photos to look like they were more than a year old, so i aged them by using the Sepia Photo Filter in PSCS3, then i desaturated them just a bit. i was pretty happy with the effect :) oh & the font is Harting ~ one of my favs, in case you hadn't noticed LOL!!

a couple things...

first, i have to show you this LO i just finished up... it's our son, Alex, at his first-ever Cub Scout meeting. he just turned 8, which means he starts attending Cub Scouts & he's been super excited about it. so, i had my *&)(#!@ camera on the wrong setting & all but the very last photo turned out really blurry. i guess at least i got the best photo of the night on that last photo! anyway ~ we had a great time & he was so handsome in his little uniform. he's loving working on badges & other awards & LOVES the den meetings & the salute & the handshake & all those other special Cub Scout things.

on the layout, the frame is from a kit i just got in the store, called Crumpled Framers. i was wanting a fun, unique way to add multiple photos to a LO, so this is what i came up with & they're really fun to play with! i also made a Commercial Use version for digiscrap designers. be sure you check them out now while they're New Releases at 25% off ~ 3 days only!

anyway ~ i hope you're all having a wonderful weekend! i should get to bed, as church is early in the morning & if i don't get now, i'll want to start scrapping more!

ok.... look up there^ (a hint: new blog header hehehehe!). i've been working on a new look for my shoppe & thought i'd add the new header over here on my blog, too! i'm loving the bold colors and still vintage look of it... how about you? now, if you peek over at my shoppe, you'll see i've changed things around a bit over there, too... don't look too closely ~ i'm still upgrading everything, but it should be all in place in about a week. i thought after a year of having my own site, it was time for some spiffy new duds :) hope you like it!!!

AND... we had some professional photographs done of my daughter when she turned 3 in August & i'm just now getting to work with them. the photographer is a friend (Deb Eilert of Keepsake Photography & Bellascrapbook.com) & gave she me permission to scrap them. i'm going to have this LO printed as 12X18 so i can frame it for us & the grandparents. i wanted it to be really simple to showcase the photos, but still have kind of a "scrapped" look about it.

the photo corners are from my Amid Memories kit & everything else i just made as i went along. hope you like it!! we had so much fun doing this shoot & got so many wonderful pics!

Deb & Michael are the site owners & they are both professional photographers. Deb found digiscrapping a while back & like all the rest of us became totally addicted. they have a photography studio with a full printing lab & thought their & resources would work so well to put together this wonderful new site.

soooo... Bella Scrapbook is born! they offer quick page printing & the really cool thing is they will do some correction on your photos before they print them in the quick page for a really phenomenal price. the other thing is that you can print any page YOU'VE created with them for an amazing $3.50... and that's on high-quality archival paper. i have to tell you ~ i will NOT have my pages printed anywhere else now that they've printed some for me. i've printed some of my 12X12 pages there & they are absolutely gorgeous.

i wanted to scrap Alex's photos from his first day of school this year & i managed to get it done in less than a week after i actually took the photos ~ yay for me!! lol! i used my new Classroom Memories Papers & Elements; the font is aescrawl & the journaling reads:

i got a couple LOs done with Classroom Memories & i really like how they turned out. they're both with photos from last year (will i ever catch up??) . one is Alex's first day of 1st grade & the other is Chelsea receiving birthday presents at her 2nd birthday party. both of these photos are almost exactly one year ago & i love that they coordinate. i hope you enjoy them, too!!

i can't believe i've not had a chance to update my blog! time really gets away when life is hectic, doesn't it? school starts this week, so it's quite possible we'll get back to a "normal" routine around our home... we'll have to see how that shakes out LOL!

it has taken me a while, but i have been able to actually get a kit done & it's school-themed since it's that time of year around these parts :) the kit is called Classroom Memories (thanks Donnatopia for the great idea for the name!!) & i really enjoyed making it & i hope you enjoy it, too! it consists of Papers, Elements & an Album. i actually had lots of extras, so i even made an Add-on just to have a place to put everything. if you purchase the Papers & Elements at regular price, i'll give you the Add-on free if you just email me (lara@dustybear.com)!

i'm gonna go ahead & post some previews today & maybe a couple LOs i made with it tomorrow or Wednesday.

i hope you're all having a lovely weekend!! the weather has been hot here, but the pool has been keeping us cool. even with sunscreen, this is us after the pool: me sunburned, kids tanned ~ go figure LOL!

i've got some hot new products to show off, too. i JUST added these super cute Ribbon Wrappers to my store ~ you're gonna want to use these cuties on every LO! there are 5 different styles of ribbon (stitched, grosgrain, patterned, dotted, gingham ruffled) & 20 different fun colors.

A new LO & new Dainty kit :)

first off i have to show you a new LO i got done of our daughter. this photo was taken at our son's soccer practice a couple months ago. the color in the photo clashed a bit with the paper color, so i used the sepia photo filter in PSCS3 & viola! it's a subtle change, but it made quite a difference :)

next are the kits i just got finished up... Dainty Papers, Elements & Album. i actually started this kit several weeks ago & was feeling uninspired by it, so i left it sitting on my HD for a while & when i came back i fell in love with the colors LOL! i must have just been in a funk the when i first started it ;)

anyway... hope you like the new kit ~ i had fun with the patterns on the papers & the texture really turned out beautifully. the ribbons & flowers in the element pack are a lot of fun to play with, too! enjoy & have a great week!!

Donna (aka Donnatopia) sent me an email with some great ideas for a "beachy" kind of kit. I took her ideas & created By The Shore. While making the elements, I created a fun "sand" brush in Photoshop & our son even made 1 of the sand elements using the my brush (it's sand6.png, if you are curious LOL!). Below is a LO I made with the kit ~ featuring our kids, as usual hehehehe ;)

Here is my darling Chelsea just being her cute little self at one of our son's soccer games. I just love her sweet smile in this photo :)

I used my new Folding Frames, Ribbon Stitching brushes and Rumpled Ribbons for this LO. The font is Aenigma Scrawl.

And here is the new Folding Frames kit. These are really unique, dimensional frames & I know you'll have a lot of fun using them! I included the drop shadows as separate PNG files, so use them or use your own :)

Well, we've finished up May's Recipe Card exchange in the Dusty Bear Yahoo Group & what a success it was! Beautiful baby

I have this wonderful photo of my sister, Gina, as a baby. I borrowed it from my Mother so I could scan it to scrap it. Soooo.... as I was removing it from the frame, the photo stuck to the glass. I had no choice but to remove it, so it tore a bit. I worked for hours & hours on it to fix the tears on her face, using several tools in Photoshop... Healing tool, Clone tool, Blur, Smudge. For the most part, I left the other wear on the photo. It was a labor of love because Gina has passed on, so I really wanted to preserve this lovely photo.

The next LO is of Alex after his 2nd front tooth FINALLY decided to come out ~ we thought that thing was gonna hold on forever LOL! Journaling reads: Alex finally lost his second front tooth today. The Tooth Fairy brought him $1 for it, too!! Jan. 8, 2006

I'm loving that I've had a little more time to scrap lately! I got another LO done of my silly dad & children. Luckily, we get to spend most Friday afternoon/evenings at my parents so the children can get quality grandparent time. I took these photos on one of those Fridays. Hope you enjoy it!!

Lace Miscellany & taking a scrap break...

First is my new kit ~ Lace Miscellany ~ a great set of lace you can use as templates to recolor. These will be a wonderful resource for digiscrap designers or scrappers... Very fun!!

And I'm gonna take a little break from designing (a week or so... no worries!) so I can make a little dent in all the photos that have been piling up on my hard drive lately. I've already gotten started & made a layout of our daughter, Chelsea, when we got her ears pierced a couple weeks ago. She absolutely adores having them & talks all the time about how much she loves her "sparkly" earrings!

Here's the journaling:
Chelsea was pretty excited to get her ears pierced today. Mom & Granny took her for the big day. Chelsea chose the gold hearts with the “sparkly" in the middle. The women who did it did both ears at the same time & Chelsea was very upset after it was done. The book Mom picked out didn’t help, but the Icee and Rice Crispy treat sure did!! She loved her new "sparkly" earrings after she saw them!

Rumpled Ribbons

I had a wonderful customer, Paula, ask for my gathered ribbon trim as a template, so I put together a whole kit of ribbons in various states of rumple LOL! You'll find satin, tafetta, satin, grosgrain, polka dot, striped & stitched ribbons; some folded and some gathered in this great kit. I even included a Commercial Use/Designer's Resource License so they could be added to digital scrapbooking kits for sale.

You can use these to recolor or use them as overlays where you add a color layer underneath the overlay & change the overlay blending mode. They're really a lot of fun to play with to find just the right color! You can find the Rumpled Ribbons kit here... enjoy!!

Hope you're all having a great day! I just wanted to share a layout I made with my Blissful Blossoms kit. This is another photo of my kids as ringbearer & flower girl at a family wedding in January. While the photographer was snapping pics, I was, too ~ but he kept getting in my way! I really liked this photo, but didn't really care to have the backside of the photographer in it LOL! Soooo... I used the Clone Tool & a little of the Blur Tool in PSCS2 & removed him. I really like how it turned out & hope you enjoy it :)

Recipe/QP Exchange with Cookery Corner starting up!

We just finished up our most successful QP Exchange using Amid Memories and we got together a MEGA album with about 40 quick pages for all the participants!! What a ton of scrapping we're all gonna get done with that many pages to use!

So now we're getting started on the next exchange & we're putting a little twist on the concept. This time we're making 4X6 recipe cards for the exchange & each participant will submit theirs as a blank card AND with a recipe. How cool is that?! OK... some of you may know I had surgery a week ago, but I'm doing GREAT & getting back into the swing of things!

Now, I have to talk about the dusty bear Yahoo group ~ what a great group of ladies there! We're learning so much from each other & everyone has really come together to support each other. It's such a blessing to have such a warm, welcoming group of ladies there. And Donna (aka Donnatopia) has been doing amazing challenges where everyone ends up with a mega-sized album of quick pages at the end. OH MY GOSH ~ she just sent out the link for TWENTY quick pages to the participants!! If you haven't joined already, we'd love to have you!

And now about my newest release (if you've made it this far, you deserve a gold star LOL!) I've actually gotten a little digiscrapping done & wanted to share it with you! These are all actually pages I turned into quick pages because I liked them so much.

First is a LO of me & my sisters as young children, about 1973. I'm the smallest, on the right in each pic. Like those bikinis?? lol And my mom made those sweet Easter dresses. This is a Beloved quick page; font is Aescrawl...

The next LO is a photo of my mom (in the middle) around 1949 or 1950; her older brother is on the right & I should know who is on the left, but no clue right now lol! Isn't she adorable? I think my daughter looks a lot like her in so many ways :) This is also a Beloved quick page; & same font ~ Aescrawl...
The next 2 layouts are of my sister who passed away from a car accident in 2004. I really love these photos of her & I'm so glad I can scrap them :) I used my Romantic Memories quick pages; fonts are Aescrawl on the 1st & Harting on the 2nd. Thanks for peeking!!!

I just released my newest kit ~ Beloved ~ at dusty bear. I really love how these colors all look together!! I think my fav elements are the beaded trim & the rusty ribbon attachers ~ they will look wonderful on layouts! I even made a set of quick pages :)

Sheesh! I've had THE hardest time getting in here to post on my blog! I finally decided to download Firefox & give it a try & viola... It worked! Now that I'm here (and the power is still on during this wonderful ice storm we're having) I'll tell ya all about my new kit. Romantic Recollection is my nod to Valentine's Day & it's got such beautiful colors, plenty of ephemera, wonderful stitching, pretty doilies & lots of distressing. Oh ~ and probably my all-time fav kind of element ~ a book! Anyway... here are a couple previews:

I hope you all had a WONDERFUL Christmas! Our family had a wonderful time traveling about & visiting with family & friends. The kids had a ball ~ they delight in everything around them ~ it's just so inspirational to me!

I just finished up my new Ribbon Stitching kits & got them in my dusty bear shoppe. I love stitching & ribbon, so this was pure enjoyment to create! You can stitch any shape or color with the brushes & the layer styles add lots of depth. These are for Photoshop CS2 or higher & PSE3 or higher. We've been recoving from being sickly around my house, so I haven't gotten much blogging done lately. I'm hoping we'll all pull out of it soon, because there is so much yet to be done for the holidays!

I have gotten some work done & I've just put in my store my new & improved Straight Stitching kits. These kits have brushes, tools & layer styles to allow you to stitch in any color & any shape. The kit is even available in Personal Use or Commercial Use. I made these to be used in Photoshop CS2 & Photoshop Elements 3 and above. Well, after a lot of blood, sweat & tears LOL ~ dustybear.com is now open! I decided I'd love to have my very own digiscrap site, so dustybear.com is what I came up with. It's still a work in progress as far as site design (the forum & gallery are still in need of pretty-ifying), but the shoppe is fully functional.
